Laura’s current research focuses on content moderation by volunteer moderators on social media. 

Laura is currently a master's student in the Media, Culture, and Technology program. Over many years as a software/web developer, she became interested in how users use software to communicate, connect, and create communities. She has gone back to school to study online communities and their contributions to global discourse. She hopes to use what she learns to build a prototype platform designed to facilitate the study of computer-mediated communication and online group decision-making.
