Matt Marshall is a film lecturer, screenwriter and composer. He teaches Intro to Film, Cinema as Art, Film History, and courses in genre studies. He is a judge for the Virginia Screenwriting Competition through the Virginia Film Office. In addition, Marshall has been composing and performing live music to classic silent films for over 20 years with the Virginia Film Festival and other screening venues. Marshall has recorded commercial soundtracks for the DVD releases of the British Edition of Charlie Chaplin's The Kid (1921) and  George Méliès' Conquest of the Pole (1912).
