"What can I do with a degree in Media Studies?"

2014 J-Term Students at The Colbert Report.

In recent years, our majors have gone on to successful careers in television, film, digital media, advertising, journalism, publishing, and teaching.  Additionally our graduates have been accepted into graduate schools in the fields of film, law, media studies, communication, and broadcasting.

The UVA Career Center has many resources to help you explore possibilities for after graduation and implement an effective job or internship search. You can search for part-time, full-time, or internship positions through the University’s job board for students, Handshake.  By making an account, you’ll also have access to alumni networking resources and additional job search tools exclusively for UVA students. For more information, or to connect with the Creative Arts, Media, & Design Career Community, contact Kate Melton ([email protected]).

Having an internship while an undergrad gives you work experience, valuable industry contacts and something to put on your resume! Check out our internships link on this page for current and past opportunites.
