Olivia (she/her) is a 2nd year Master's student in UVA's Media, Culture, and Technology program. She is a multimedia artist and media researcher. In her work, she explores feminine/BIPOC online communities, gaming/fandom cultures, and girls' games and play. In particular, she is interested in exploring black women's online communities and cultures: how black women create media, conceptualize the experience that is "the internet", and transform social media platforms and other online spaces into canvases for black female self-expression, creative and imaginative play, and everyday happiness. When Olivia is not studying or making art, Olivia can be found sipping a cup of coffee, crafting a spotify playlist, or playing a cozy video game.
